Finding myself a Title...

One might think, knowing my creative brilliance and quick mind, that coming up with the title "Short Shorts and Weak Pros" was a brief and effortless process. That, however, is not the case. Creating a name for a blog that is to be as influential and inspirational as mine is not an easy process, in fact it is quite a delicate one. The title needed to be something that drew the reader in, intrigued the glancing eye, and gave a sense of the content that awaits. I weighed many options:

"Shootin' Brix"- A close second place, this title had many strong aspects of a clever Sports Blog Title. It is easy to remember, revolved around a pun that involved both sports and my name, and cut off the -g from the first word, which suggests my smooth vernacular and laid back style. Indeed, this title conveyed that I was gunna give it to 'em straight, but it was not to be. Too easy.

"The Wheaties Box"- An iconic American sports symbol, something that resonates with Sports fans young and old (mostly old), this title would bring instant credibility to my column. Until I got famous and sued for the little that I am worth. Plus I find Wheaties to be void of taste and not as nutritionally balanced as Total.

"Playing with Myself"- Funny to me, but may attract the wrong kind of web browser.

"Thoughts of a one-time Little League All-Star"- This title didn't sit well with me, it trivialized and poked fun at what really was an unbelievable season.

"Bringing in the Writey"- Mildly clever, mildly creative, and not very humorous this title never had a chance. Plus, I'm left handed.

I debated long and hard over these titles and others ("Using the BULL-pen," "Semi-Competitive Solitaire," "One Man to Beat...") but in the end I had to go with my heart. So, now that i have a title to go with my rock solid sport credentials (former host of "The 3 Man Weave" on WMSR radio, and perennial pick-up game top 8 pick) I am ready to roll.

Stay tuned for the droppage of knowledge...

I am a New Yorker living in the heart of red sox nation. Could you comment on the sox losing game 7 and the differences between new york and boston sports cultures?
Sincerely,
